OPELOUSAS, LA -- Each year, the Louisiana Department of Education has a contest to select the Teacher Leader Summit t-shirt design. Students from across the state compete to have their artwork proudly worn by teacher leaders at the annual Teacher Leader Summit.
We are pleased to share the news that Magnet Academy for Cultural Arts (MACA) student Ayla Voitier’s design submission for the 2021 Teacher Leader Summit t-shirt contest is this year’s winner! Ayla has been a student in the Talented Art classes for three years at MACA.
Kimberly Becnel, Ayla’s art teacher, has this to say about her; “Ayla has been more than the ideal student. Her workload is very strenuous but she always pushes herself to do more. In addition to completing projects for a grade, Ayla enters art competitions and creates art for various school functions; most of which she does on a volunteer basis. Ayla has also been in the MACA After School Art Program (ASAP) for three years and the Art Club for three years.”
Teacher Leader Summit is an annual professional development conference, which brings together Louisiana educators of students from birth to grade 12th-grade who inspire, innovate, and impact meaningful growth for every student.
