We are pleased to announce that Mrs. Robin Villemarette, affectionately known as Mrs. V. by her staff and students, will be the new principal of Northeast Elementary for the 2024-2025 school year. 

Mrs. Villemarette has an extensive teaching background, having served in an educational capacity for the past twenty-three years.  She taught grades 6 through 8 for 14 and a half years in subjects including Social Studies, Mathematics, English Language Arts, and Read 180. Additionally, she served as a Teacher Leader Advisor with the Louisiana Department of Education from 2013 to 2016.

Mrs. Villemarette holds a degree in Elementary Education from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from McNeese University. Her career began in Acadia Parish as a 6th-grade annex teacher, covering all subjects before focusing on 6th-grade World History. Seeking to make a broader impact, she moved to St. Landry Parish in 2009, where she taught 7th and 8th-grade English Language Arts and Social Studies at S.L.A.T.S. until 2017.

Mrs. Villemarette’s administrative journey began in 2017 as an assistant principal at Lawtell Elementary, a role she held until 2021. She then served as Assistant Principal at Opelousas Middle School for the 2021-2022 school year before moving to Northeast Elementary, where she has been since 2022.

With her extensive teaching background, administrative experience, and academic qualifications, Mrs. Villemarette is well-prepared to lead Northeast Elementary to new heights. She is enthusiastic about continuing her work with the Northeast Elementary team to achieve academic excellence. She is grateful and proud to be part of a dedicated team committed to challenging and expanding their students' learning experiences.
