Junior High and High School Students in Lafayette and St. Landry parishes are invited to submit one entry of either their poetry or visual art to this contest. The winner will receive $150, and the first and second-place runner-ups will receive $100 and $50, respectively.
SUBMIT BY MAY 24TH
Submissions should address the topic of Juneteenth or subtopics focused on voting, resistance, or empowerment.
Poetry
• Poetry can be submitted in writing or as an audio recording.
Visual Art
• Students may submit photographs of their visual art that includes drawings, paintings, sculpture, or digital art.
